Disney Concert Hall and UFO
1 Comment May 29th, 2006

Found this image at Paper Architecture. Seems to be Frank Gehry has proven himself as a visionary architect. The aliens must have mistaken his masterpiece as a landing pat for flying saucer. I hate to say this, but the Disney Concert Hall looks like a huge skate board ramp for King Kong… … if only [...]

Talk about origami, the image of Japanese and their minimalist/miniature culture begins to flash in my mind. Origami is the art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a given result using geometric folds and crease patterns. Origami refers to all types of paper folding, even those of non-Japanese origin.

Of course, that’s both liberating and alarming. But the generic city, the general urban condition, is happening everywhere, and just the fact that it occurs in such [...]

Grand Canyon Skywalk
No Comments May 23rd, 2006

Found this article in Wired Magazine issue 14.01 interesting. Its a nice idea, but instead of a U-turn shape of skywalk, why not stairs? or series of glass cubic/spaces as galleries? They should have include bungee jump.
The view may terrify you, but there’s no cause for alarm. The Skywalk, which juts out into the air [...]

Currently studying Architecture in Curtin University, Western Australia. Calvin loves web designing and photography, occasionally he blogs about his thoughts and opinions.

Every morning he refill himself with weird energy-inducing substances known as coffee and tea and then off saving the world, I mean studying and blogging of course.

The author is not a CAD expert nor a web genius. Just another guy spending too much time online (believe me, way too much). The tutorials featured here are meant for basic level understanding.
