Today is World’s Architecture Day. World Architecture Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October each year. This year’s theme is “Cities, magnets of hope”. Chosen by United Nation as a reminder to us all that our human race is withnessing the greatest migration of people from towns into cities in our history.
In 1950, one-third of the world’s people lived in cities. Just 50 years later, this rose to one-half and will continue to grow to two-thirds, or 6 billion people, by 2050. Cities are now home to half of humankind.
How did I celebrate World Architecture Day? Simple… by building my boss dream and how did you celebrate yours? Surf to Time For Architecture 2006 for more information.
