You need clients to make life, off course it is a business. My experience as an artist brought me into conclusion that artists including architects speak the same "language", we eat, drink, live, hang up mostly with other artists. This social network can limit us to understand what the other part of the people (those who don not speak architect's language) prefer to consume.
