I'm living in Canada (Quebec), and yes we have ceiling fans! In fact, there's a lots of ceiling fan everywhere in Canada... Even thought our country is really cold, we have really humid summers and having something to cool off is "necessary*. I'm sure it's not as bad as malaysia, but here we just have so much stuff to deal with heat... AC, pools everywhere, ceiling fans, geothermic pump... and so on... Hi!
