In the comic book ‘The Women’, acclaimed novelist T. C. Boyle turns his attention to the life and loves of celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright, enlightening human dramas and illuminating both history and American culture with imaginative energy.
Having brought to life eccentric cereal king John Harvey Kellogg in The Road to Wellville and sex researcher Alfred Kinsey in The Inner Circle, T.C. Boyle now turns his fictional sights on an even more colorful and outlandish character: Frank Lloyd Wright. Boyle’s account of Wright’s life, as told through the experiences of the four women who loved him, blazes with his trademark wit and invention.
Wright’s life was one long howling struggle against the bonds of convention, whether aesthetic, social, moral, or romantic. He never did what was expected and despite the overblown scandals surrounding his amours and very public divorces and the financial disarray that dogged him throughout his career, he never let anything get in the way of his larger-than-life appetites and visions. Wright’s triumphs and defeats were always tied to the women he loved: the Montenegrin beauty Olgivanna Milanoff; the passionate Southern belle Maud Miriam Noel; the spirited Mamah Cheney, tragically killed; and his young first wife, Kitty Tobin. In The Women, T.C. Boyle’s protean voice captures these very different women and, in doing so, creates a masterful ode to the creative life in all its complexity and grandeur. AutoDesk Education has been offering its software to students for free for quite some time, possibly two years ago. Anyway, they are giving away 13 month genuine free serial numbers / License key for AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk VIZ, Revit Architecture and many more, except for Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya, and Autodesk Mudbox. All you need to do is sign up and verify your student email address. Yes, it’s free!
But as with all free products, don’t forget the asterisk and the magnifying glass. The free software is for personal use purposes and is subject to the terms and conditions of the end-user license agreement that accompanies download of the software. These free software are full working versions (student editions) and the only difference between the student version and a commercial version is the watermark found in every final print. The student version will print a border around any print that says “PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT “. View print banner sample.

Fill in the registration form together with your valid student email address.

When you are done, check your student email account and activate your AutoDesk Education account as shown in the image above.

Why trouble yourself with the student version when the internet is flooded with so many pirated versions, the best part is it comes with no limitation or overprint, albeit some comes with viruses and trojans. With all the watermark plastered over your final print, it gives me the feeling of ‘I don’t want to lie to you and don’t want to tell you the truth either.’ Personally I think it makes more sense to sell a USD20 to USD50 ‘light’ student version with no limitation or watermark. Who needs are those bell and whistle in AutoCAD? A simple CAD tool is good enough.
