Publishers are approaching digital books with skepticism, an author decided to withdraw his ebook from Kindle after it was sold to a number of readers, the ebook was removed from their Kindle without notifying them. Yes, they have to do something different.

the problem I see with ebooks are the way it presents itself as a digital version, it should be an interactive version of the book, not an image copy of it. Throw in colours, multimedia videos with in-text links to wikipedia or their own ‘encylopedia’ website with advertisement. I see many ways of momentizing ebook.

Response: Publishers DO embrace online book publishing. They SELL e-versions of their books. You are asking that they do something different, however, namely let people copy and distribute their books freely. Do you have a business plan in mind for just how a publisher will stay in business this way? Or is your notion of what the world should so simply based on whatever you feel is best for yourself?
