Pudu Jail 1891 – 2010, Rest in Pieces
Sponsored Links

Pudu Jail is more than 100 years old, build by the British with cheap labors from India, used by the Japanese as a prison camp to butcher the Chinese and by the present government for hanging 1000 criminals till the late 90′s.
A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. – Marcus Garvey
I would love to see the prison retained as a tourist attraction or at least the gate. Then again, the current policy is to rewrite and whitewash history.

Living with the dead
Chinese is the Jew of the east, known for being money minded. According to a research, Malaysian Chinese controls 70% of the property market. With 17% retail vacancy in Kuala Lumpur, a sudden increase in supply does not make any sense. Chinese are a superstitious lot of people, being superstitious, I doubt the majority of the Chinese wants to invest in a property where 1000 criminals was hanged, not to mention the untold numbers of Japanese war victims brutally murdered.
