Architecture Working Life

I thought that working life would be fun, but it turns out to be very boring. Maybe its because I’m doing the donkey jobs, only god knows how boring it is. I’ve always love art and design related stuff, be it a painting or photography, but then I don’t know why in the hell did I take up architecture!
Is it because of the ego in me? Maybe its because people will look up on me someday, in the future if I’m an architect, but as time goes by, I’ve lost the passion, I can’t take it anymore. Architecture is so boring, boring in the sense that unlike graphic designing, there are many rules and regulation to follow, wherelse graphic design only has one rule to follow – be cultural aware.
The image above is one of the project my boss is handling, I’m doing the 3D plus some minor drafting and a little bit of designing here and there. Look at the size of the project, its so freaking huge and I’m suppose to finish it in one week time ( 7 days ). Good thing I’ve got an assistant to help me – Thank you CAD Bear.
Okay, I’ve completed the 3D and its time to relax! Dream on sunny, I wish I could do that! Just for your information, my boss wants me to complete another 3D. Do you know how big is it? Hold on to your breath:
- 18 Story hotel
- 1 block of 16-story office tower
- 3 blocks of 12 story low cost apartments
- 2 blocks of 20 story service apartments
- 1 block of 4 story shopping mall
- one food court
And yes, its a masterplan and I’m dying, sometimes working life is fun, sometimes it is stressful, I would say the working environment here is good. The boss is very friendly, staffs are friendly also, of course I’m friendly also :) I have to admit that the pay is very low compare to my other friends whom graduated from Limkokwing University College together with me, but money is not an issue.
p.s. the 3d modeling above is done in SketchUp5, its almost done. The final rendering would be done in Artlantis.
