Frank Gehry - Hotel Marqués De Riscal

This is the work of non other than Frank Gehry, like the Disney Concert Hall; this ribbon like building is a unique hotel in Alava, Spain, known as Hotel Marqués De Riscal. Its an attempt to redefine the traditional image of winery regions in Spain. Chirstmas is coming soon and I guess God must have drop his gift wrapping Christmas.

  1. This project is a joke! Don’t get absorbed in the flashy metal facades, please. Where in the world did he come up with the colour scheme? A hotel should be warm and inviting… this is cold and hard!

  2. Before you make such harsh judgements on a building you should do a bit more research. The color scheme is mimicking the colors of the wine and bottles created by this winery. The sandstone is to connect the building with the nearby historical church. Most hotels do need to focus on being warm and inviting, but rather this hotel focuses on the historical importance of the site and surroundings.

  3. THIS NEW “ARCHITECTURAL WORK” OF THE GREAT FRANK GEHRY SEEMS TO BE LIKE ” A SNEEZE” OF HIS REAL GRET MASTERPIECES: GUGGENHEIM, BILBAO, AND DISNEY MUSIC HALL.
